Apple cider vinegar gummies are easy to make at home, and homemade ones skip the colours and syrups in many store versions. Apple juice and honey balance the vinegar, and beef gelatin gives a firm, chewy set.
Ingredients (about 40 small gummies)
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) unsweetened apple juice, cold
- 30 g (about 4 tbsp) beef gelatin powder
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) apple cider vinegar
- 45 ml (3 tbsp) honey
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Method
- Pour the cold apple juice into a small saucepan, sprinkle the gelatin over it and let it bloom 5 minutes.
- Warm over low heat, stirring, until the gelatin dissolves completely. Do not boil.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the vinegar, honey and cinnamon.
- Pour into silicone moulds or a lightly oiled small dish.
- Refrigerate 2 hours until firm, then unmould or cut into squares.
Notes
- Keep in a sealed container in the fridge up to 2 weeks.
- For softer gummies, use 20 g of gelatin.
